🐾 Neonatal & Medical Rescue Care
Wildwood provides around-the-clock care for orphaned, premature, or medically fragile kittens from birth to approximately eight weeks old.
Services include:Incubator and warming support for hypothermic or fading kittens
Assisted feeding (bottle, syringe, or tube) and hydration support
Subcutaneous fluids and medication administration under veterinary direction
Stabilization and recovery for kittens transferred from partner rescues or clinics
All treatments are performed in accordance with veterinary guidance and Missouri ACFA shelter standards.

🌸Isolation & Disease Control
Wildwood maintains dedicated isolation housing to protect the health of incoming and medically vulnerable kittens.
Protocols include:PPE use and sanitation logs
Veterinary-grade disinfection and air purification
Controlled temperature and humidity for NICU housing
Individualized recordkeeping for each kitten’s health status
These procedures follow state licensing requirements for shelter sanitation and care.

🏡 Adoption Coordination
Once medically cleared, kittens are placed directly by Wildwood into approved homes.
Each kitten is:Spayed/neutered (or medically deferred with veterinary documentation)
Vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption
Accompanied by a complete medical and care record

📘 Community Education & Outreach
As part of its long-term plan, Wildwood is developing the Wildwood Neonatal Learning Hub, an education and outreach branch designed to share proven neonatal care methods with the community.
Current and future activities include:Free online and printable educational materials for kitten care and rescue operations
Community presentations on topics like “What To Do If You Find Kittens” and Fading Kitten Syndrome awareness
Future hands-on training opportunities and certification workshops for fosters, volunteers, and partner rescues

🤝 Rescue Partner Support
Wildwood collaborates with local shelters, rescues, and veterinary clinics to:
Accept emergency neonatal transfers when capacity allows
Share standardized medical and sanitation protocols
Provide consultation on neonatal setup and recordkeeping practices
Partnerships are limited to availability and compliance with ACFA regulations.

🪶 Operational Model & Compliance Statement
Wildwood Kitten Haven & NICU operates as a solo-run, family-assisted micro-shelter pending licensure by the Missouri Department of Agriculture under ACFA.
All medical procedures, treatments, and protocols are performed under veterinary direction or in accordance with written guidance from the supervising veterinarian.
